Freedom Wyoming

Freedom Wyoming is a Star Valley Wyoming. It is located 40 miles south of Jackson Hole, a valley dotted with farms and a mountainous topography. Three national forests surround Star Valley, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Caribou National Forest, and Targhee National Forest of Idaho. Star Valley Is a rich place to visit.

Freedom was established in 1879, and today it remains the oldest settlement in the Star Valley. The community was settled as a border town by Mormon pioneers. The community was named for the Freedom it gave these early settlers.

Freedom is an unincorporated community in both northeastern Caribou County, Idaho, and northwestern Lincoln County, Wyoming in the United States. Located on U.S. Route 89 and Idaho State Highway 34, it sits on the Idaho/Wyoming state line. At one time, Freedom was the largest settlement in Star Valley. There was a general store, a gas station, billiard hall, and other establishments. Today some of the old buildings still stand, but very few are still in use.

Freedom Wyoming is home to Freedom Arms a firearm manufacturing company, known for producing powerful single-action revolvers. The company was founded in 1978 by Wayne Baker to produce the Mini revolver then later a revolver chambered in the powerful .454 Casull chambering. This 5-shot revolver was the Model 83.
