Born 1-15-41 in ??? Jim grew up in La Canada CA with his brother Richard (Dick). He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He worked is Director of Operations for General Nucleonics and was part owner. Hobbies included old cars, sports cars, gold mining and presiding over recreational clubs. Jim retired AT 48 due to health problems.

Jim became the surrogate father to Laura's sister Rhonda and brother Kenny after receiving custody of them when they were in their teens. Jim excepted them as they were his own. Brother's in law Daryl and Gene Hunter were also more like brothers than in-laws. Laura and Jim's home became the nucleus of the Hunter Family. Jim had his hands full with Laura's family as well as his own Loraine, Sandra and Traci.

Their residence in Ontario CA (The Bergener Ballroom) was also a nucleus for an extended family of friends as well as family. A good time was had by all.

In 1989 Jim's illness (Congestive Heart Failure) struck and his doctor gave him 6 months to 2 years to live. He told Jim to sit down in an easy chair and make the best of it. Well Jim, the ornery goat would have none of that dying crap so he started walking to strengthen his heart. Today 11 years later Jim is still walking as well as riding a bike, gold mining, participating in Mountain Man Rendezvous', and taking an active part in raising his grandchildren.
